What Is Rebirthing-Breathwork?


Rebirthing-Breathwork is a powerful holistic healing technique which draws on conscious connected energy breathing to attain a deep inner healing of emotional, mental, physical and spiritual matters.

With the gentle guidance of a Rebirthing-Breathwork Facilitator, the inhale and the exhale of the breath are connected, so that there are no gaps between filling and emptying the lungs. This is a natural healing process which is built into our bodies. It is the way infants and animals breathe. When we breathe we breathe energy as well as air. This energy disolves and releases anything of a lower vibration which we may be holding on to such as tension, physical pain, and emotional pain.

After  breathing in this manner for a few minutes, a deep state of relaxation is reached. This deep state of relaxation coupled with the new energy being brought into the body creates an environment of emotional release and transformation. It is often described as "Sacred" and "Profound".

Stuck energy and old negative patterns are released, allowing one the freedom to experience their true self, and see the world in a more positive light.

After a Rebirthing-Breathwork session, most people feel a deep sense of relaxation and inner peace, as well as a renewed connection with their spiritual path.

We are often dramatically effected and imprinted by the events of our birth and childhood. Many of our attitudes about our life are formed at an early age. A difficult birth could create the thought and feeling that "life is difficult". An abusive father could create the belief that "men are not safe". The subtle disapproval given to us by our parents could translate into "I'm not good enough". The examples are endless.

We can change the patterns in our life. We don't have to keep creating the same situations over and over. We can create loving relationships and heal our past relationships. We can have a fullfilling career. We can change anything in our life by addressing the inner cause.

As children and infants we often don't have the tools and capabilities to cope with the strong feelings brought on by traumatic events. These feelings stay with us, stuck in our bodies, hearts, and minds until we can release and heal them.

How do we hold onto uncomfortable feelings? We hold our breath. How many times have you noticed yourself not breathing during a stressful moment? What do people say to others to remind them to relax? "Relax...and breathe". "Take a breath". Or just simply "Breathe".

At birth our first breath can be one of pain and confusion. Our lungs are filled with fluid and we are forced to breathe air before we are ready. The lights blind us and the room is much colder than the safe womb we were just in. The trauma of birth gets locked into our breathing mechanism. The more we breathe and heal our breath, the more we resolve this past pain.

The effort it takes to hold onto emotional pain is tremendous. It causes misery, disease and death. Too much of our life force is used in keeping ourselves "safe" from our own feelings. Releasing stuck emotions heals us on all levels. Our emotions, our thoughts, our physical body and our soul are connected. Each has influence over the other and as we free ourselves from past pain, we free our whole being.

We all have a true divine nature and an individuality that is unique and special. The breath is the key to unlocking our true selves so that we may participate in the world with love.
